Ambitious
young countryboy lawyer Kevin Lomax (Keanu
Reeves) finds himself working for the high-flying
New York corporation of the suspiciously-named John
Milton (Al Pacino).
The small town Kevin originally hails from is Gainesville
on I-75 in northern Florida,
but heís soon off to the Big Apple.
The New York
locations are divided between the courts and corporate
offices of Lower Manhattan and the swish penthouses
of the East Side.
The cityís grand courthouses are on Foley
Square in the Civic Center district, and
Kevin is seen leaving the Surrogateís
Court, 31 Chambers Street
Sinister John Milton, who could clearly afford to travel
the city in a stretch limo, chooses to descend into
the Chambers Street Subway
Station.
ëPenta Plazaí, his company office, is Continental
Plaza, Wall Street, with its spectacular
view of three bridges crossing the East River, but the
rooftop scene, where he tempts Kevin, filmed 50 floors
up on top of the Continental
Tower. In reality, thereís no water garden
up there, and this cool feature was added digitally.
Miltonís apartment is naturally one of NYís most prestigious
addresses, Fifth Avenue at
94th Street, Carnegie Hill.
Lomaxís wife, Mary Ann (Charlize
Theron), is taken power shopping by the ghastly
rich-bitch wives in SoHo, at Yohji
Yamamotoís, 103 Grand Street at Broadway.
The deliriously kitsch, nouveau stinking-rich living
room of property developer Alex Cullen (Craig
T Nelson) could belong to only one person. Itís
the real apartment of Donald Trump, occupying the top
four floors of Trump Tower,
725 Fifth Avenue.
