HIGH ANXIETY filming locations

CREDITS
HIGH ANXIETY, 1977
dir: Mel Brooks

Mel Brooks
Madeline Kahn
Harvey Korman
This hit-and-miss Hitchcock parody signalled the start of Brooksí slide into mediocrity.

Set in the quintessentially Hitch city of San Francisco, where the hotel lobby with glass lifts that triggers off Brooksí acrophobia, is the twenty-storey atrium of the Hyatt Regency, 5 Embarcadero Center in San Franciscoís Financial District – also seen as the lobby of The Towering Inferno.

Filming also took place at Fort Point, beneath the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, in homage to Vertigo.

ëThe Institute for the Very, Very Nervousí, though, is in Los Angeles. Itís the campus of Mount St Maryís College, 12001 Chalon Road, Bel-Air, which is just north of Bellagio Road where Hitchcock himself lived, at number 10957.

The park used for The Birds parody, where Mel was actually splattered with mustard, is Brookside Park, north of the Ventura Freeway toward the Rose Bowl at the western edge of Pasadena.
