classic children's story.
ėToad Hallķ is the red-brick Tudor Kentwell
Hall, Long Melford in
Suffolk.
Kentwell Hall had previously appeared in a very different
kind of film, Michael
Reeves' brilliantly nasty Witchfinder
General, with Vincent
Price as witch-hunter Matthew Hopkins.
The railway scenes were filmed on the Bluebell
Line – a five mile stretch of track
between Horstead Keynes
and Sheffield Park,
northeast of Haywards Heath in Sussex.
