The ‘Liverpool’ club is Dublin’s Merrion Hall, now the Davenport Hotel, Merrion Square.
The cliff, over which which Micky O'Neill (Adrian Dunbar) is dangled, is at Howth, north of Dublin. Filming also took place at the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare. The tower, where O'Neill goes drinking with Ned Beatty (as singer Josef Locke) is O’Brien’s Tower near the Cliffs of Moher.
