Coming-of-age drama, with ’Lady Bird’ McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) yearning to get away from her home town of Sacramento – where most of the film was shot.
It’s not all the real Sacramento, though. Lady Bird’s school is Alverno Heights Academy, 200 North Michillinda Avenue, Sierra Madre, east of Pasadena.
Its gym is that of South Pasadena High School, 1401 Fremont Avenue in South Pasadena – familiar on screen as 'Haddonfield High' in John Carpenter's original 1978 Halloween.
