My
first day as a woman and I am already having hot flushes.
This rather sentimental comedy, which really caught
fire at the box office, is set, of course, around San
Francisco.
The TV studio, where Daniel Hillard (Robin
Williams) gets a job boxing up and shipping cans,
is KTVU 2 over on the East
Bay. In East Bay, too, youll find the
restaurant where Hillard is forced to perform his quick-change
routine during two fraught meals. Its Bridges
Restaurant, 44 Church Street,
Danville, east of Oakland.
Also in the area is the Claremont
Resort and Spa, 41 Tunnel
Road in the Tilden
Regional Park area north of Berkeley. Built
in 1915, the Victorian-style resort is where Mrs Doubtfire
sabotages Miranda Hillard's (Sally
Field) flirtation with charmer Stuart Dunmeyer (Pierce
Brosnan.
