Tobias Woolf’s autobiographical story, with Leonardo DiCaprio as the young Toby, whose life is made hell when his mother (Ellen Barkin) marries the monstrously tyrannical Dwight Hansen (Robert De Niro).
The small town in which they settle is the evocatively-named Concrete, about 100 miles northwest of Seattle, Washington State. There was more filming on historic 25th Street in Ogden, Utah.
