Jonathan Demme, who went on to direct Silence Of The Lambs and Philadelphia, started his directorial career like so many in the 70s with exploitation king Roger Corman.
This women-in-prison melodrama was filmed in the old Lincoln Heights Jail, 421 North Avenue 19, Lincoln Heights, in Los Angeles, a veteran location seen most famously in the 1954 version of A Star Is Born, 1954 and for supplying interiors for the original A Nightmare On Elm Street.
