Made around Atlanta, Georgia, continuing in its bid to become the new Hollywood, Zach Cregger's innovative horror movie turns out to be genuinely scary. Find out precisely where it was shot.

The cleverly multi-viewpoint story is set in a small 'New Eastern' town called 'Maybrook', loosely based on places that might be found on the fringe of cities like Philadelphia, Cleveland and Cincinnati.

As you must know by now, even if all you've seen is the poster, all the children but one from the class of new teacher Justine (Julia Garner) inexplicably leave their homes to vanish into the dark at precisely 2:17 am one morning.

'Maybrook Elementary School', hit by the tragic mystery, is Brockett Elementary School, 1855 Brockett Road in Tucker, a city just a few miles northeast of Atlanta.

There clearly something odd going on at the home of Alex (Cary Christopher), the only one of Justine's pupils not to have disappeared. Despite being warned not to approach the boy, Justine can't resist attempting to contact his oddly elusive parents at their house, 4095 Brockett Creek Court, also in Tucker. In fact, it backs directly onto the school. This stands at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac terminating in two small circles and was clearly chosen for its position directly facing the approach road. This is a private home and, as ever, please respect the residents and avoid being intrusive.

Becoming the focus of for suspicion and even outright hatred from the mystified parents, Justine seeks comfort in booze. She buys vodka at 'USA Liquors' convenience store. The store features throughout the story and, if you've come across any production stills, you'll have noticed that the name of the Store in reality is USA Package, which you'll find at 1116 West Avenue SW, in the city of Conyers, on Hwy20, 24 miles east of Atlanta.

Conyers' gifts to the movie business include Dakota and Elle Fanning, Holly Hunter and DeForest Kelley (Dr "Bones' McCoy, if you needed reminding).

Events take a sudden shocking turn when Justine is physically attacked while being confronted by angry parent Archer (Josh Brolin) at a gas station.

The 'Trueco service station' is the BP gas station, 2106 Pace Street at Williams Street, in Covington, further east of Conyers. Justine runs for shelter into the accompanying To Go store.

Covington has appeared on big and small screens regularly, in productions including Selma, My Cousin Vinny, Remember The Titans, Madea's Family Reunion, Doctor Sleep and others as well as TV's The Dukes of Hazzard.
