The confusing sequel (filmed back-to-back with Back to the Future Part III), which flips from past to future, revisits many of the familiar locations.
The school is, once again, Whittier Union High School, 12417 Philadelphia Street at Pierce Avenue, Whittier; and the ‘Enchantment’ dance was carefully recreated at the First United Methodist Church of Hollywood, 6817 Franklin Avenue, Hollywood.
The ‘Mill Valley’ town square at Universal Studios Hollywood was dressed to represent alternative futures – one good, one nightmarish – while Biff’s Vegas-style ‘Pleasure Palace’, in the nightmare future, is no more than a nine-foot model.
