In 17th century rural England a mysterious claw is ploughed up, and soon something nasty is taking over the local children. This original and scary period horror comes from Piers Haggard, the director of Dennis Potter’s landmark TV series Pennies From Heaven.
It was filmed northwest of Henley-on-Thames, at Bix Bottom on the A423 west of Maidenhead, at an isolated farmhouse, the remnant of a village wiped out by the plague. The overgrown ruins of the old church can still be seen.
