The third in what was to become the long-running series has radio and TV comedian Ted Ray, making his only appearance with the Carry On… team, as headmaster 'Wakie' Wakefield, whose new position is threatened (Oh, matron!) by the posting of a trendy child psychologist (Leslie Phillips) to his school.
‘Maudlin Street Secondary Modern School’ is Drayton Green Primary School, Drayton Grove, West Ealing, London W13. Virtually unchanged since the Fifties, the school stands, conveniently for filming, at the end of a cul-de-sac.
