Gremlins 2: The New Batch | 1990
Wickedly funny and wildly self-indulgent sequel to the studio-bound Gremlins, cramming more movie buff in-jokes into its anarchic plot than you could possibly take in at one viewing.
This time the little creatures get to New York, though the ‘Chinatown’ shop where the gremlin is discovered is the ‘New York Street’ set on the Warner Bros backlot in Burbank.
In New York, ‘Clamp Tower’ is 101 Park Avenue, just to the south of Grand Central Station, seen also in Terry Gilliam's The Fisher King, Woody Allen's Alice, Brewster’s Millions, The Secret of My Success and The Avengers (Avengers Assemble).
The ’Cathedral of St Eva-Marie’ (see what I mean about movie-geek jokes) is St Patrick’s Cathedral, Fifth Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets.
