For the first sequel to The Naked Gun, Lt Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen) has to deal with the kidnapping of scientist Dr Meinheimer (Richard Griffiths) and, once again, Los Angeles forms the backdrop.
Drebin's police HQ is the San Pedro Municipal Building, 638 South Beacon Street, between West 6th and West 7th Street, down in San Pedro.
The palatial home of kidnapper Quentin Hapsburg (Robert Goulet) is 1400 Tower Grove Drive, Beverly Hills, in the hills east of Benedict Canyon Drive. It's a modern house, built in the 1980s, on the site of a historic mansion built in the 1920s for silent star John Gilbert. Its subsequent owners include Miriam Hopkins, producer David O Selznick and eventually, Elton John, who sold it in 1981. The new owner demolished the 20s building and built the current property.
Drebin struggles with his wetsuit on the pier in San Pedro Harbor, south LA.
