Trois Couleurs: Blanc (Three Colours: White; Trzy Kolory: Bialy) | 1993

The centre section of Krzysztof Kieslowski’s trilogy was filmed in Warsaw, Poland and Paris, France. The opening scene overlaps with Trois Couleurs: Bleu, as Karol Karol (Zbigniew Zamachowskii) arrives at the divorce court. This is the Palais de Justice, 10 Boulevard du Palais on the Île de la Cité.

Julie (Juliette Binoche), from the earlier movie, can be glimpsed wandering into the wrong court. It’s from the courtyard, the Cour du Mai, that the tumbrils once rolled to the guillotine on the Place de la Concorde.

The métro station, where Karol plays comb and paper, and gets a chance to return to Poland, is Place de Clichy.
